General
The easiest way to cancel is to click the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any e-mail you receive from Teachers on Wheels. Another way is to log into your online account, then go to “Notifications” where you can uncheck the “Subscribe to our Newsletter” option.
Subscribing to our newsletter is easy and free. You will receive an email once a month with news and updates on our programs. You can unsubscribe anytime.
To subscribe you can either:
- Sign up for an online account with Teachers on Wheels. This will allow you to manage your newsletter subscription in your account settings, as well as review your donation history.
- Enter your email address in our newsletter subscription form.

Donations
To send a donation by check, please follow these instructions:
- Make a check payable to “Teachers on Wheels, Inc.”
- On the memo line of the check, you may optionally indicate the cause you’d like your donation to be used for. You can find our causes on our donation page.
- Please mail your check to:

- Don’t forget to include your name and return address, in order for us to mail you a receipt.
All contributions will be gratefully acknowledged.
Teachers on Wheels, Inc. is recognized by the IRS as 501(c)(3) public charity and donations to Teachers on Wheels are generally considered tax deductible expenses on your US income tax return.
In order for you to claim any charitable donation you however may be required to itemize your tax deduction instead of electing to take the standard deduction. As individual tax situations vary, we recommend you consult with your tax advisor.
Many companies will match the gift of their employees. That means for every dollar you donate, your company will in addition donate the same amount. Check with your employer’s HR department for information if your company participates in employer matching.

No matter where you live, you can support Teachers in Wheels’ programs and make a donation. Residents of the USA or Australia, may be eligible to take a tax deduction for your donation. You will need to check with your tax advisor if your situation allows you to tax deduct your donation. International donors may be charged a foreign transaction fee by their bank when making a donation in a foreign currency. Donate online now.
Gifts in honor or memory of someone can be made using our online donation form. This is a great way of recognizing someone else for the positive impact they had on your life or on the community.
When donating online, click on “Give in honor or memory of someone” and you can then specify the honoree’s first and last name. Your gift will then be made in their name. You also have the option to send an eCard with a personalized message to either the honoree or a person of your choosing.
If donating by check, please include a note with the honoree’s name and optionally the address for sending the acknowledgement.
A recurring donation is a great way to make your gift a monthly repeating donation. You set it up once when making a donation online by choosing the Monthly option.
Thereafter, every month your selected payment method will be automatically charged for the chosen amount. You will receive a receipt via email every time your payment method is charged.
No, you do not need to sign up for an account in order to make a donation. Though an online account is not required to make a donation, it is however recommended to register for one. An account will give you easy access to your donation history and tax receipts. If you choose to make monthly recurring donations, an account will allow you to more easily update or cancel your donation subscription.
You can sign up with just your email address, or use your social media account. During the sign up process we will send you an automated email with a verification link inside. Once you verified your email address your account will become active and you will be able to sign in.
If you are signing up from the donation page, you will be redirected to the sign up page. Once your sign up process is completed, you will be automatically redirected back to the donation page to where you left off and your previous form entries will be pre-populated.
You can cancel your recurring donation subscription anytime by going to your account page on our website.
When making an online donation, you may optionally choose to have your name listed on our Donor Wall, or stay completely anonymous. Our Donor Wall is a great way of letting others know that you care.
You will find our Donor Wall by going to “ABOUT US”, then “Our Friends“.
If you’ve made multiple donations then all donations where you chose to have your name shown on our Donor Wall will be combined. This will ensure your name is placed appropriately.
If you choose to make a gift in honor or memory of someone and choose to have your name shown on our Donor Wall, then the honoree’s name will be shown instead. The next to a name on our Donor Wall indicates a tribute was made in honor or memory of that person.
If you’ve made a donation to Teachers on Wheels, first of all thank you for your generosity! Every dollar makes a difference and no amount is too small.
If you see your name on our Donor Wall even though you elected to stay anonymous, please keep in mind that there may be another person with the same name who may have made a donation. If you believe that this is unlikely in your case, please contact us and we’ll investigate.
If during the donation process you elected to have your name shown on our Donor Wall, but later change your mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to correct it for you.
If you signed up for an account on the Teachers on Wheels website prior to making a donation, you can find your donation history on your account page. Here you can view your donation history and print your receipts.

When donating, you are in control of choosing which program your donation will go to. Teachers on Wheels’ annual reports are available to the public.
Whenever possible, Teachers on Wheels buys supplies locally, thereby supporting the local economy. You can always contact us online here to confirm, or consider making a monetary donation instead and donate online.
In a word: Yes! Teachers on Wheels uses SSL to encrypt all data submitted to and from our website. In addition Teachers on Wheels does not process or store your credit card details when making a donation. We use the industry leading payment providers PayPal and Stripe to handle your payment submissions. This means that when you make an online donation through the Teachers on Wheels website, your credit card details are never stored on Teacher on Wheels servers.
