Management Team
Our Board and Management Team is made up of dedicated, enthusiastic individuals who are passionate to inspire others through knowledge.
Denis grew up in Germany where he graduated university and worked for a technology startup before moving to the USA to work in Silicon Valley. He has extensive experience in leading global teams for Fortune 500 technology companies. Denis has lived and worked in Europe, USA and Australia. He currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Denis’ social engagement began in his early career working for the social services arm of the Red Cross. He is passionate about helping others and developing technology solutions to fulfill his entrepreneurial curiosity both in the corporate and philanthropy setting. Denis has mentored students and supported teachers in Australia in technology related topics and continues to inspire others through his technical knowledge.
Through his extensive travel for work and leisure, as well as having lived and worked in many countries and cultures, Denis is a strong advocate of inclusion and diversity and equal opportunity. He believes that a quality education is the foundation to an equitable society and instrumental to build prosperous lives.
Chris Anthony is the Co Founder of the global non-profit Teachers on Wheels. His mission in life is to improve the quality of life for people in the low socio economic areas through skills development. Chris works for a Fortune 500 multinational company in Sydney, Australia. He is the global champion for Inclusion & Diversity initiatives. An avid advocate for STEM and Vocational Education. Chris began his STEM mentoring journey in 2001 when he sponsored a group of fresh graduates from an Australian college to take up work experience opportunities. This has now become an annual event with hundreds of students from schools and colleges taking up STEM mentoring opportunities.
In 2008, Chris partnered with industry experts and teachers to include Email Security specialisation in the national ICT qualification for a leading college in Australia. Chris is passionate about the future of education. He facilitated several train the trainer sessions for College teachers with cutting edge ICT technologies. Chris is engaged with a number of Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, including visiting refugee camps in Australia to understand their plight and to support their children and families through counselling activities.
Chris earned his associate degree in Engineering from Western Sydney Institute and a masters in Information Technology and MBA from Charles Sturt University. Chris wants to pursue his social entrepreneurial skills to develop quality course content for students to fill the jobs of the future.
As the Head of the IT department at Lidcombe College of TAFE, South Western Sydney Institute, Cathy created innovative solutions to stimulate student learning and address rapid technological change. TAFE (Technical and Further Education) is the largest Australian government public educational provider, established in 1833 with over half a million studying all over Australia.
Over the last 20 years, Cathy has been instrumental in creating a tight interlock between leading IT industries and TAFE. This partnership allowed Cathy and her team to co-create Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses in Networking and Security. In addition, Industry sponsorship enabled students to undertake on-the-job training with state of the art technologies, thus increasing their vocational opportunities.
Cathy’s vision is to assist learners to achieve their educational goals by providing a quality learning environment through technical knowledge, skills and the dedication that she brings to this profession.
Originally trained as a physicist, George has been the Head Teacher of Information Technology in Technical Colleges NSW for 10 years, and a technical teacher for 29 years, currently leading a team of expert IT teachers in IT curriculum development, resourcing and delivery in the context of a strong industry consultation and liaison.
In addition to a Bachelor degree in Physics with a sub major of Mathematics, and subsequent eight years of relevant industrial experience as an industrial physicist in a manufacturing environment, as well as project managing national standards as Executive Officer in Standards Australia, and teaching engineering and matriculation physics in technical colleges, George holds a Master of Computing (Information Technology) degree from the University of Western Sydney and a Graduate Diploma in Commercial Computing, also from the University of Western Sydney. A Master of Business degree from UTS, and other qualifications in business management, Electronics and Telecommunications gives him a thorough understanding of both student and business expectations.
George is currently a senior instructor in the Cisco Networking Academy Program, with 15 years experience in training students and other instructors in the Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) curriculum, as well as Voice over IP, Wireless Networking, and Network Security. He is member of the Australian Institute of Physics and retains his interest in technology as an active licensed unrestricted amateur radio operator and experimenter. George has lectured at the Bachelor and Master level since 2003 in universities in Sydney.
Our Staff & Volunteers
Our passionate staff and volunteers come from all walks of life and are located around the world, helping in many different ways.
Monica is a young dynamic university graduate in Commerce. She works in getting volunteers for a cause. She attends job fairs and works with companies to identify jobs for the long term unemployed. Monica supports the Director of Operations in all the organizing and logistical matters.
Sangavi has a degree in commerce from Bangalore University. She has experience in working a variety of roles in the retail industry. Sangavi is experienced coordinating fundraising events in Bangalore. She is responsible for site visit and coordinating welfare work for the poor in slum areas, including organizing large scale feeding the poor initiatives in the outskirts of Bangalore.
Alex is a recent graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in 3D Animation and Game Development. Through his college years, Alex honed his skillsets from 3D modeling to 3D animation working in Autodesk Maya. In his spare time, Alex is volunteering at Teachers on Wheels where he has used his creativity and skill as a 3D Artist and Animator to create a 3D prototype of our expandable mobile classroom concept using the body of a 20ft shipping container and reinforced machinery to expand the walls outwards, creating an indoor space that can fit a capacity of up to 20 students. Alex’s artwork and animations play a center role in Teacher on Wheels’ online presence, media and fundraising campaigns.
